God of War Ragnarök is an upcoming action-adventure game created by Santa Monica Studio and will be released by Sony Interactive Entertainment. It is intended to be published in 2022 for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5
God of War: Ragnarok is coming this year
The sequel to 2018’s God of War, God of War: Ragnarok, will be released for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 sometime in 2022.
A few years have passed since the events of God of War, and in God of War: Ragnarok, the last chapter in the Norse saga, Kratos and a now-adolescent Atreus must battle for their lives as Ragnarok (the end of the world) approaches.
In September 2021, a trailer for the upcoming God of War game gave us a first peek at gameplay and in-game cinematics, which were both fascinating to see. We hope to learn more about the game in the following months, including the ultimate release date, as we enter the game’s release year.
In the meanwhile, as we await additional information on when and where God of War: Ragnarok will be released, here is all we know about the game thus far.
There have been rumblings of a God of War TV series.
According to Deadline, a live-action version of God of War may be in the works. The Expanse creators and executive producers Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby, as well as The Wheel of Time executive producer and showrunner Rafe Judkins, are said to be developing the idea, which Amazon Prime Video is allegedly interested in.
Sony Pictures Television and PlayStation Productions are presently collaborating on HBO’s The Last of Us adaptation and Peacock’s recently announced Twisted Metal series, and it’s assumed that the God of War series will be the next example of this.
Jason Schreier doesn’t foresee any delays.
God of War: Ragnarok has yet to get an official release date, which has sparked suspicion that the game may be delayed. But in a February Reddit post on the subject, Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier refuted such rumors, addressing a query as to whether or not the game will be delayed beyond 2023 with a simple “Nope.” However, Schreier did not elaborate on when he thinks the game would be released or when we might expect a release date announcement.

Still scheduled for publication in 2022.
Even though we haven’t heard anything about it, it appears like God of War: Ragnarok will arrive this year. In a PlayStation roundup of “Upcoming PS5 & PS4 titles to look forward to in 2022,” the highly-anticipated sequel was mentioned, indicating that the game is still on target for a release date in 2022.
Cory Barlog has a ‘no notion’ regarding a PC port.
In recent years, a growing number of PlayStation-exclusive games have been transferred to PC, including God of War (2018), which was released relatively recently and was a huge hit. God of War: Ragnarok’s creative director Cory Barlog, however, stated that he was hesitant to promise the same treatment to its impending sequel in a shorter time period than four years.
‘I don’t know,’ Barlog said. Our strategy is to take each game as a test and ask ourselves: “Is this the greatest thing?” And we’ll keep tabs on its progress. Is it something that people enjoy? Were we able to do what we set out to do? Is there anything you think we should have done differently? Is there anything we can do better the next time around? But in the end, the choice rests with Sony.”

If the release date was mentioned, it is possible that it was incorrect.
On the PlayStation Network, a release date for God of War: Ragnarok has been discovered.
PlayStation Game Size, a Twitter account that scans the database for information on game file sizes before they are released, alerted us to the occurrence. “According to the PlayStation database, God of War Ragnarok will be released on September 30th, 2022,” the account tweeted out.
While a firm release date for God of War: Ragnarok would be wonderful, as PlayStation Game Size points out, it is more likely that this is a placeholder date than the real release date for the title. We’d take that with a grain of salt until Sony or Santa Monica Studio makes an official announcement.
