Ragnarok’s Season 2 Ending

Season 2 of the Norwegian-language fantasy drama “Ragnarok” is now on Netflix. David Stakston plays Magne, an awkward, lonely youngster who realizes he’s Thor reincarnated. Mange is also prophesied to combat the Jutuls, a family of ancient giants, or jötnar. This features father Vidar (Gsli rn Gararsson), matriarch Ran (Synnve Macody Lund), and their “children” Saxa (Theresa Frostad Eggesb) and Fjor (Herman Tmmeraas). The four giants have lived for thousands of years and pose as a family.

Magne struggles to support his mother, Turid (Henriette Steenstrup), and his antisocial brother, Laurits (Jonas Strand Gravli). Season 1 is about Magne discovering his heavenly position and gathering the bravery to take on the Jutuls, concluding in one-on-one combat with Vidar. In the second season, which aired on Netflix on May 27, 2021, Magne joins a team with other gods and seeks Mjölnir. Season 2 concludes… Fjor, Ran, and Saxa overcome Magne and his supporters. And Laurits?

Season 2’s new gods

In season 1 Magne believes he’s the lone deity, but Season 2 reveals he has many companions. First, he meets schoolgirl Iman Reza (Danu Sunth). Iman immediately realizes she can control people, indicating that she is Freyja resurrected. Magne obtains an ally in Harry, a cheap mechanic who turns out to be Tr, the god of battle, thanks to Iman.

Besides Iman and Harry, this season has more surprises. First, Laurits, son of Turid and Vidar, is confirmed to be half-giant, half-god Loki. Laurits plays both sides while yet having a close bond with Thor. The program relates Laurits’s discovery of his sexuality and gender identity to Loki, a deity famed for his ability to change his appearance, including race, gender, and anything else. The fluidity of Loki’s trickster nature is a big part of Laurits’ persona in “Ragnarok.”

At the same moment, Wotan (Bjrn Sundquist) awakens Odin. Odin, Thor’s father, instructs Magne and the other gods on how to construct Mjölnir. The story indicates that additional teens from Magne’s school may be sleeping gods, but nothing is verified.

Magne’s principles impede him as Thor

Magne’s high morals is a problem in Season 2. In episode 3, Magne kills Vidar. Magne is affected despite Vidar’s aim to rule over humanity. He’s against killing and struggles to accept that he’ll have to become Thor. Laurits calls Magne a murderer for the act. Magne prays and loses his abilities, returning to the normal person he was in Season 1 of “Ragnarok.”

Magne and the struggle against the giants are larger than life and death, and Magne must murder his opponents to prevail. They’ll probably be reborn regardless. If it comforts Magne, they’re never truly dead. Magne sees his importance in the struggle and works with the other gods to obtain Mjölnir and reclaim his powers. Magne’s morals, coupled with his family, is the only thing that keeps him human. Magne’s employment depends on his values. Season 3 will tell (hopefully).

Jörmungandr’s shifting affiliations

Season 2 of “Ragnarok” features shifting relationships among legendary figures. Fjor begins Season 2 as a harsh critic of his family, moving out and residing with Gry (Emma Bones). At first, he appears like a key ally for Magne, but Vidar’s death changes everything. Fjor comes home and assumes his father’s obligations. This makes him the main villain, however, that might change. Fjor’s actions push Saxa away, and by Season 2, she may be on Magne’s side. Having Saxa as an ally would be a huge benefit for Magne and the other gods, who consistently underestimate her.

Laurits, or Loki, will always switch allegiances. Laurits’ rebirth proves the god’s unreliability. His friendship with Magne and his mother is his sole emotional ties. Laurits and Magne betray one other in the war between gods and giants. Laurits betrays himself by releasing his pet tapeworm, Jörmungandr from Norse mythology. In mythology, this snake encircles the planet and kills Thor. Laurits is making his brother’s lone weapon.
